A little about Kandoorah or Dishdasha

Kandoorah is the traditional dress of Arabs having a slight varies from place to place. Kandoorah cover the whole body to the ankle. During the hot weather situations the Arabs commonly wearing cotton, White kandoorah but in Cold seasons you can see them wearing dark woolen kandooras. As well as a traditional dress, kandoorah navigates us through the Great Holy culture of Arabia. The very part of the Arabian land is deserted and the kandoorah protects the body from the deserted weather conditions. The long shirt allows the air flow thus it protects from the unexpected weather conditions.
 

Egal

The double black cord worn sitting on top of the head just to hold the ghutra and commonly made up of tightly woven black goat hair and sheep’s wool is known as Egal. It is used to secure the ghutra in place.
 

Ghutra / shimagh

Ghutra/ shimagh is a part of headdress worn commonly by the Arab men.
The shimagh is a well embroidered cotton scarf which is either white or red shade. Shimagh is commonly wear in winter seasons. Ghutra is plain in normally with embroidered border. It is made up of cotton fabrics and comfortable in summer seasons. Both ghutra and shimagh worn folded in to a triangular shape with a fold in forehead.

Bishth

The loose robe worn on top of the Kandoorah or dishdasha by Arab men which is commonly made of cotton or camel/sheep wool is known as Bishth.. A Bishth trimmed with beautiful golden and silver embroidery. The crowned heads especially wearing in official occasions and the common people using in special occasions such as wedding ceremony.
